How To Install UPI (United UPI) On Mobile?

Reserve Bank Of India (RBI) has launched an all new payment interface called UPI interface under the initiative of National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI). This is going to be the great initiative for the cashless economy, and it is expected to be the biggest change in the financial sector.

UPI payment interface is designed based on the RUPAY payments by MasterCard and Visa, and this will allow you to transfer funds between different banks by interconnecting them.

United UPI app is specially designed for Android users to transact funds via the UPI payment method. This app can be downloaded from the play store just like any other banking apps, and you can use it for transacting funds between any bank account.

Let’s find out how you can install United UPI on your smartphone or tablet.

Steps To Install Unified Payment Interface UPI App:

Here are the steps to install and use the new UPI app on your smartphone.

Downloading The United UPI App:

Step 1: To get started, go to Android play store on your smartphone or tablet and search for “United UPI” app.

Step 2: Once you find the app, click on “Download” to download and install it on your device.

Step 3: The app will start downloading now, and in a fraction of seconds, it will be auto installed on your Android device.

Getting Started With The App:

Step 1: Once the United UPI app is installed, click on “United UPI” app icon on your Android device to launch the app.

Step 2: In the homepage of the app, you will be asked to verify your mobile number. Tap on “Click Me” button to get verified.

Step 3: Make sure that the number associated with your bank account is inserted into the slot 1 of your smartphone or tablet using Android OS version 5.0 or lower. If your device is using Android OS version 6.0 or later, make sure that your primary mobile number is selected as the default number for SMS.

Step 4: Once your number is verified, you will be redirected to the new user registration page. Fill all the necessary details like the First and the Last Name, Mail ID, DOB, and your password (6 digit PIN). Once done, click on “Complete Registration“.

Step 5: On successful registration, you will see the following screen.

Adding Your Bank Account:

Step 1: To add your bank account, click on “Add Bank A/C”.

Step 2: On the next page, select your bank from the list of banks available.

Step 3: Once you chose your bank, you will be presented with the list of accounts associated with that bank. Select the desired bank account and click “Submit“.

Step 4: Your selected bank account will be successfully added to the app.

Creating Virtual Payment Address (VPA):

Step 1: To transfer funds via United UPI, you need to create a virtual payment address (VPA). You can use your mobile number and your bank name to create this unique ID.

Step 2: For example, let’s say your mobile number is 98452, and your Bank is ICICI, then your virtual ID will be 98452@ICICI.

Step 3: Now to create a Virtual Address for your account, click on “Add Virtual Address“.

Step 4: In the Virtual Address Creation page, select the bank account that you have added in the previous step.

Step 5: In the next page of Virtual Address Creation, you can select the user frequency, and set the expiry date and the amount limit to create the Virtual Address.

Step 6: Once done, select your desired Virtual PIN and click on “Submit“.

Step 7: That’s it. Now you have successfully created the Virtual Payment Address.

Generating UPI PIN For Fund Transfer:

Step 1: Now you need to generate UPI PIN for your transacting funds. To do that, click on “Set UPI PIN“.

Step 2: Next, select your bank account to set the PIN.

Step 3: In the next page, you need to provide the last six digit of your debit card and the expiry date. Click on “Submit” once entered.

Step 4: Now you will be prompted to verify your bank account via OTP. Enter the OTP you receive and select your desired UPI PIN. Once done, click on “Submit” to create the pin.

Step 5: That’s it. You have successfully added your bank account to the UPI payments app.

Now you can easily transfer money using the United UPI Android app.

How To Send Money Using UPI App (United UPI)?

The next question that probably pops up in your mind is how to send money using UPI app, i.e., United UPI. Well, it is not a difficult process. Just follow the steps given here carefully, and you can easily send money through the UPI app.

Let’s discuss the steps in detail.

Step 1: To get started, you need to open your downloaded UPI payments app (United UPI) using the Passcode.

Step 2: On the homepage of the app, you will see the option like “Pay”. Click on it.

Step 3: Next you need to choose the bank account from which you wish to send the money. If you have linked only one bank account, then you don’t have to choose it.

Step 4: Once you have selected the bank account, you need to choose the receiver. Now you have to enter the receiver’s bank account number and IFSC code or the Virtual Address or Aadhaar Number. We recommend you to use the Virtual Address.

Step 5: Finally, you have to enter the amount that needs to be transferred and click on “Send Money”. Now you will be asked to have to enter the UPI PIN.

Enter the PIN, and you are all set to go.

That’s it. The money immediately gets credited to the account of the recipient.
