Step-by-Step method to Activate Your Jio 4G Sim On your Dongle/Modem
- Insert the Jio 4G Sim card on your Modem/Dongle
- Place the sim card in the slot in the dongle/modem
- Connect the dongle to the PC or laptop
- Set the APN to Jio net
When you set it, you would have the Jio 4G sim card activated for the internet
How to set the Jio APN?
You can set the APN in many ways. Connect the dongle and open a web browser. If the connection is automatically established, you do not have to do anything.
If not, try one of the following two methods:
- Method 1 – Here is a step by step process to follow:
First, on the notification bar, right click on the modem network connection, click on properties.
Then, click on profile, set the APN as “jionet” and click “ok”
The internet connection will work
- Method 2 – Alternatively you can set it on the modem window:
Right click on the modem and choose the “Setting Preference”
Click on profile management and set the APN as Jionet
Do not fill out any other fields. The internet connection will be up.
How To Use The Jio 4G Sim on your 3G Modem Dongle
There are no special methods to make your Jio 4G sim card to work on your 3G modem/dongle. When you set the 4G sim in your 3G modem/Dongle, it will not convert it into a 4G device.
The internet will be at its maximum speed, which means, the speed will not be 4G. It will work just as fine with the 3G modem/dongle
Steps To use The Jio Sim card in your 3G Modem/Dongle
- Insert your activated Jio sim card in your 3G dongle/Modem
- Place the sim card in the slot provided
- Connect the dongle to the PC or laptop and wait for the connection to be up
- Set the APN to jionet
